May Day greetings

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala on Thursday extended his warm wishes to all the workers and labourers on the occasion of International Workers’ Day. He recalled their contribution in all the democratic movements in Nepal and said the country would only prosper if everyone respected the rights and skills of all the workers.


Ministers summoned

Kathmandu: A meeting of the State Affairs Committee of the parliament on Thursday issued summons to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam and Defence Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa to brief the committee on contemporary issues of the respective ministries on May 7. The State Affairs Committee also summoned Minister for General Administration, Pampha Bhusal, to clarify issues related to recent transfer of government employees on May 5. “The ministers have been called to brief the committee on the burning issues related to their respective ministries,” said State Affairs Committee chairman Ram Nath Dhakal.
