Kathmandu, November 20

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi today said media can play an important role in improving bilateral relations between India and Nepal.

Inaugurating an international seminar on “India-Nepal Relations and Role of Media” jointly organised by National Media Foundation, New Delhi, and Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communications, Tribhuvan University, in Kathmandu, Nidhi said, “The role of media in expanding and consolidating Nepal-India relations is significant.

While informing the public about the developments and constructive engagements between the two countries, the media can play a vital role in generating trust and understanding at all levels.”

DPM Nidhi said the government was looking for a strong partnership with India. “Nepal and India posses huge potential for development.

What we need are innovative ways and means to harness our abundant resources for economic growth in a spirit of partnership for shared prosperity,” Nidhi said.
