Members of Dalit Bikas Samiti attend office

Kathmandu, June 28 :

The newly appointed board members of the Dalit Bikas Samiti (DBS) today attended office amid a brief function.

Speaking at the function organised to welcome them at office, the vice-chairman Sundar Biswokarma said he would work day and night in order not to let the remaining budget freeze.

Biswokarma, the former executive director of the DBS, was re-appointed at the government body for Dalits welfare as vice-chairman yesterday only.

The new board members include Tara Ruchal from Eastern region, Dhruba Biswokarma from Central region, Tulsi Paswan from Western region, Jhak Bahadur Biswokarma from Mid-western region, Bhim Janala from Far western region while Tulsa Gautam Pariyar and Maina Achhami have been selected from NGOs. The 13-member board includes one secretary each from the ministry of Local development, culture, and a representative of National Planning Commission. The government has also appointed Krishna Bahadur Nepali as the executive director of the DBS who also works as member secretary. Minister for local development is the chairman of the Samiti.
