KATHMANDU: A team of doctors today submitted a memorandum to the Minister for Education Dhaniram Paudel seeking the dismissal of the newly appointed Tribhuvan University Dean of the Institute of Medicine (IoM) Dr Jagadish Prasad Agrawal.

The team of the IoM Protection Struggle Committee led by Dr Suresh Upreti submitting memorandum today have warned the government to resort to hunger strike if Agrawal was not dismissed from the position.

They have been staging the agitation for last 16 days objecting to the appointment of new Dean, arguing that former Dean Prof Dr KP Singh was forced to resign from the post, which was illogical and illegitimate.

Agrawal was appointed the after the previous Singh tendered his resignation "save the life of Prof Dr Govinda KC" on December 3.
