Minister Bista pledges to further work for workers' occupational safety
KATHMANDU: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Gokarna Bista, has said the government carries the responsibility of working for the safety and health issues of workers as per international standards.
Inaugurating the '18th National Occupational Safety and Health Week-2075 BS' organised by the Department of Labour, amidst a programme here today, the Minister assured of effective role by government bodies to strictly implement provisions for occupational safety and health of the labour community.
On the occasion, the Minister gave his word for making corrections to incomplete provisions for further ensuring the rights of workers. He insisted on the need of combined efforts among all the people concerned to see improvements in the occupational safety and health of workers.
Prior to this, the Department held a morning rally which was attended by a large number of people including trade unions' representatives, students of technical colleges, and employers. The rally that originated from Basantapur concluded upon reaching Tundikhel.
