Minister Khand praises Nepali Army’s role

Kathmandu, August 26

Newly appointed Defence Minister Bal Krishna Khand today praised the role of the Nepali Army in maintaining national integrity and sovereignty.

Issuing instructions to high level officials of the ministry, NA and subordinate bodies of the ministry today, Minister Khand said NA played a great role in implementing the constitution and enforcing laws.

Minister Khand said he would modernise and consolidate the Nepali Army and help build warm relations between the national army and the people. “It is the responsibility of all to help the army provide security to the people, and safeguard the country’s sovereignty and integrity,” he said.

Born in Malyangkot VDC of Syangja district in 2017 BS, Minister Khand was elected to the Constituent Assembly from constituency 3 of Rupandehi district in 2070 BS from the Nepali Congress. He led the youths during various democratic movements.

He is also the former president of Nepal Student Union and Nepal Tarun Dal, NC’s student and youth wings, respectively.

Khand is the central committee member of the Nepali Congress and was appointed irrigation minister in 2066 BS and Minister of State for Education in 2061 BS.
