Minister opens ‘training for trainers’

Minister for education and sports, Radha Krishna Mainali, today stressed the need for using knowledge and skills for development of the country. Speaking at the inauguration of

“Training of trainers — learner, assesment and evaluation” at the Training Institute for Technical Instructors (TITI) in Sanothimi, Mainali said such training would help boost technical knowhow and improve the quality of performance. The three-week-long training is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented

by Swisscontact. The programme is one of a series of four Train-the-trainer modules being offered to TEVT professionals in Asia. Participants from Nepal, Albania and Burkina Faso are attending.Dhruba Dhungel, TITI executive director said the training will address long-standing problems of using norm-reference tests of low reliability and validity. The training will cover all aspects of learner assessment — especially those that impact learners in technical education and vocational training.
