Minister Pokharel leaves for Israel

Kathmandu, February 8

Minister for Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Prasad Pokharel today left for Israel to participate in the International Mediterranean Tourism Market-IMTM 2016 to be held on February 9 and 10 in Israel.

The exhibition’s theme will be innovation in Tourism and will include awarding of prizes by the Minister of Tourism and Mayor of Tel Aviv-Jaffa for specially developed apps during the annual event of Israel’s Tourism Industry.

The exhibition will pay tribute to 150 top incoming tourism companies, which have put Israel on the global tourism map.

They have been invited by the Ministry of Tourism and the Israel Incoming Tourism Operators Association to the special event to honour their contribution to tourism in Israel.

Delegations from 48 countries will attend the IMTM including the first delegations from the US, Lapland, Taiwan, as well as a delegation from Egypt’s Air Sinai and the Moscow Tourism Board.

Similarly, representatives from Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Spain, Finland, Sweden Portugal, India, France, Ecuador, Japan, Nepal, Vietnam, Greece, Serbia, Belarus, Georgia, Hungary, Poland, South Africa, Tanzania, Morocco, Panama, Peru, and other countries will participate in the exhibition.

Minister Pokharel will address the IMTM inaugural programme and will participate in the ministerial meeting on common tourism issues with the concerned authority.

Later, he will participate in a press meet, presentation and other discussion programmes organised there.

Six travel and tourism companies under the banner of Nepal Tourism Board in partnership with the Embassy of Nepal in Israel will participate the exhibition.
