Missing child found safe 23 hours later

A 19-month-old boy missing from Temma Hattisar tole of Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality was found safe in the forest 23 hours later in Khotang today.

Raj Kumar Magar and his wife Sapana’s son Ewan Magar had gone missing from home at 10:00am yesterday.

Local Pancha Kumar Rai said that Ewan was found safe in Jhaslungpakha, two kilometres away from his home at 9:22am today. According to Rai, the missing child was found in the thick forest of Seshthumkipakha.

Finding the minor in the thick forest away from home has left locals amazed. “We are taken aback. How could a child, who could not walk reach the forest,” said a local.

The parents have been elated at having found the boy. They had reported to the police about the missing child.

Three teams were deployed to search for the missing baby.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar KC said a police team had been deployed from Chhitapokhari Area Police Post to search for the missing boy.

“The child was found in perfect health. Medical check-up showed that he was in good health and he was not attacked by wild animals,” DSP KC stated.
