MoCTCA honours culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi

Kathmandu, August 22

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation honoured culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi with ‘Litterateur of the Century’ title for his contribution to Nepali literature and culture during a programme organised here today.

Speaking at the event, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jitendra Narayan Dev praised Joshi for making immense contribution to Nepali language, literature and culture.

Joshi thanked the government for recognising his contribution. He said diversity of Nepali art and culture should be exposed to the world.

Meanwhile, Banira Giri, Parshu Pardhan, Krishna Gautam, Nagendra Raj Sharma and Basudev Munal were also honoured with ‘Mahakabi Devkota Award’. Prof Khelawan Sah, Hiranya Lal Shrestha and Modanath Prasit were awarded with ‘Pushpa Lal National Award’.

Rameshwor Mandal Khatwe and Mithai Devi Bishwokarma bagged the ‘Bhagat Sarbajit Manab Maryada Award’, while the ‘Rastriya Prativa Award’ was given to Harihar Sharma, Sundar Krishna Joshi, Gobinda Dangol and Tara Mishra.

In the music and drama category, Parshuram Rai, Tirtha Kumari Thapa, Menkaji Gurung, Kamal Kumar Bishwokarma and Dipendra Prasad Dahal were honoured with ‘Regional Prativa Award’.
