Month-long traffic awareness campaign

Kathmandu, May 13:

With the objectives of easing traffic flow, managing pedestrians and making traffic effective in the valley, Metropolitan Police Traffic Division (MPTD), Ramshahpath, is all set to launch a month-long special traffic campaign from tomorrow.

“We’ll deploy 100 transport workers on the road to help run this campaign,” SSP Bhishma Prasai said at a press conference at MPTD.

“There has always been an enemy-like relation between transportation workers and traffic police. We are trying to establish relationship of cooperation between them,” he added. “During the campaign, volunteers and police will help manage bus stops, make pedestrians use sub-way, urge bus drivers not to randomly pick up and drop passengers and teach drivers about traffic rules,” he said.
