Bike-borne police imposters rob youth in Sinamangal

KATHMANDU: Two motorcycle-borne persons, who identified themselves as policemen in plain clothes, stopped a youth for "security check" and robbed him of money and gold chain from Sinamangal of Kathmandu on Wednesday, police said.

The victim, Umesh Rai (31) of Malangawa of Sarlahi district, reported to police that the police imposters seized Rs 49,000 and chain made up of two tola gold from him and fled the scene.

It has been learned that the suspects used a motorbike with registration number Ba 16 Pa 2186 for the broad daylight robbery.

Police said they have launched a manhunt to get hold of the suspects.
