Motorcycle rally organised to welcome new constitution

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Student’s Union (NSU) took out a motorcycle rally this morning in the capital city, to welcome the endorsement of the new constitution from the Constituent Assembly (CA).

Nepali Congress general secretary Prakash Man Singh led the motorcycle rally. Inaugurating the rally, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Singh said that the new constitution was written from the sacrifices of a large number of students. “This achievement was obtained with the students’ struggle for democracy,” he said.

On the occasion, he hoped that country would stride forward in development after the promulgation of the new constitution.

Likewise, Chairman of NSU Ranjit Karna said that people’s dream of writing constitution from the CA has been fulfilled after 65 years.

The rally started from the Pradashani Marg, converted into a corner assembly at Maitighar Mandala after passing through Kalikasthan, Kamalpokhari, Kamaladi, Bhadrakali, Tripureshwor and Thapathali.
