Muslims seek place in CA

Kathmandu, June 28:

The Intellectual Muslim Association of Nepal (IMAN) today demanded 10 per cent representation of Muslims in the constituent assembly.

According to it, Muslims in Nepal comprise about 10 per cent of the population. “At least 50 seats in the constituent assembly should be ensured for the Muslim community,” a press release issued here today by IMAN president Mohammad Ijaharul Hak Mikrani said. “The constituent assembly without the representation of Muslims, Dalits, Janajatis and the Madheshi communities would be of no significance,” the release said.
