KATHMANDU: A youth has been arrested while trying to smuggle illegal items to Bangkok via a Thai Airways flight, from the Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday.

The suspect has been identified as Tshiring Gambo Gurung of Mustang, currently residing at Shyambu, KMC-15.

Gurung was detained from the hold baggage checking area while he was about to board the flight, police discovered 65 coins of various sizes seven metal lockets and a statue of Ganesh among others.

Gurung along with the seized items has been sent to the TIA Customs Office in Sinamangal for further investigation.
