NHRC concerned

KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission on Sunday said its attention had been drawn to the coordinated bomb lasts that injured ‘dozens of people, including a minor’ in Rautahat, Bhojpur, Lamjung and Nuwakot districts in the last few days.

“The series of bomb blasts targeting election candidates and campaigners show how the security situation has deteriorated further ahead of the elections,” stated a press release issued by the rights watchdog.

The NHRC has also urged the government to bring to book the perpetrators of the inhuman acts and ensure free treatment to the injured.

“We would also like to request the parties or groups involved in the attacks to find a solution through peaceful dialogue,” read the release.
