NIC makes public its orders, activities

Kathmandu, January 18

The National Information Commission made public its important orders and activities of the last two years in Kathmandu today.

Speaking at the function, Chief Commissioner of NIC, Krishna Hari Baskota, said the commission was working actively to ensure people’s right to information. “The demand for information is increasing as people are

becoming more aware. We have directed all governmental and non-governmental agencies to set up information centres within three months and to update their websites.

The commission is running awareness campaigns in all 75 districts with the help of students. A chapter on right to information is also included in the school textbook for Grade IX.
