National Women's Conference to begin in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The National Women's Conference will kick off in Kathmandu from December 1.

The two-day conference will identify the scope of jobs where women are not paid for service and take initiatives in this regard, said the organisers at a press conference in the Capital on Tuesday.

The conference will be organised jointly by Asmita Women's Publishing House, ActionAid International, Nepal and National Women Rights Forum.

A total of 250 housewives from 35 districts will participate, said Executive Director of the publication house Sarita Shrestha.

Speaking at the event, women rights activists believed that identifying the area of jobs where women are deprived of their pay for service would help end gender discrimination.
