Nayashakti demands revocation of appointments at high courts

KATHMANDU: Naya Shakti Nepal (NSN) has urged the Judicial Council to correct its decision of appointment of judges at high courts.

Issuing a press release on Monday, Law, Justice and Human Rights Department of the party, said that such decision has created serious challenge on people's belief and trust on constitution, law and judiciary.

The press release issued by Department Coordinator Mukti Pradhan states, "The decision of appointment of judges at high courts taken in absence of two of the five members, has made the Judicial Council further disputable."

NSN said that the remarks made by the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajaya Shankar Nayak, has clearly shown that the appointment of judges was taken under political influence and for political power sharing.
