NC cadre's hunger strike enters Day-4

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress youth cadre Ramesh Maharjan’s fast-unto-death is continuing on the fourth day today at the party headquarters in Sanepa.

He had started the hunger strike on February 17 demanding reinstatement of Jiwan Dangol as chief of Kathmandu unit of the Nepal Tarun Dal. “The leaders have ignored the issue even when Maharjan’s health is worsening,” said Dangol, ex-chief, NC youth wing, adding that the hunger strike will continue until the party revoked its decision. A committee headed by Vice President Prakash Man Singh to settle internal disputes of the party had removed Dangol from the post.
