NC constructs 3,150 shelters for quake victims

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress said on Sunday that the party constructed 3,150 temporary houses/huts for the earthquake victims.

The party said it had mobilised 1,5000 volunteers, including leaders and workers, to construct shelters for quake victims. The party volunteers, during the last one month, removed debris of 1,125 buildings and constructed 1,085 classrooms for schools, one temple and 10 community buildings, said NC Spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu at a press meet organised at the party headquarters in Sanepa.

During the period, the party collected Rs 16.4 million for earthquake victims, said Badu. The money will be handed over to PM’s Disaster Relief Fund, he said. Party leaders and workers from all over country were deployed in the quake-affected districts.
