NC discusses internal agendas

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the office bearers of Nepali Congress held at party President Sushil Koirala’s residence in Maharajgunj on Sunday dwelt on issues relating to amendment of the party’s statute.

Senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and members of the party’s Statute Amendment Committee were also present at the meeting.

The leaders discussed if the party should increase the number of office bearers and which among the 11th and 12th National General Convention should be counted as the first term of a party president as a person can hold the post for a maximum of two terms.

“The issue will be decided in the Central Working Committee meeting on Monday,” said committee coordinator Ananda Prasad Dhungana.

The leaders reassured that the party’s 13th National General Convention would not be postponed as rumoured.
