KATHMANDU: Senior Leader of the main opposition Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Paudel has condemned the shooting incident in Kanchanpur today calling it an unimaginable step taken by the government to oppress citizens demanding justice.

“I strongly condemn the incident where government mercilessly shot the citizens staging peaceful demonstrations demanding justice for the 13-year-old rape and murder victim,” leader Paudel said in a statement. “Such oppression against people demanding justice is unimaginable in this era. I am deeply saddened by the death of the 14-year-old boy and the incident where innocent and unarmed children and adults were shot.”

Leader Paudel also demanded the government to bear all treatment expenses of the injured while expressing condolence on the teenager's demise.
