NC parliamentarians demand immediate start of reconstruction task
KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentarians from various quake-hit zones in the country demanded the earliest reconstruction of the quake-damaged physical infrastructures.
The lawmakers, who are also in the Legislation Committee of Legislature-Parliament, pressed for immediate relief and reconstruction for the most-quake hit places.
Parliamentarian Nabindra Raj Joshi said that the lawmakers demanded the government to provide relief materials as pledged by the government.
They urged for the same citing that the winter has already set in and those quake-displaced people could be badly affected by the cold if relief materials did not reach them beforehand.
The parliamentarians also recommended the government to pass the National Reconstruction Authority Bill from the Legislature-Parliament to expedite the reconstruction task.
In a meeting held today at the chairmanship of NC Acting President Ram Chandra Paudel, they argued that the reconstruction task should be acknowledged on the humanitarian grounds than viewing it from political angles.
