BHAKTAPUR: Vice-president of the Nepali Congress and a member of the Constituent Assembly Prakashman Singh on Friday called on all parties to work together to frame a democratic constitution.

Speaking at a function organised by the Bhaktapur Town Committee of the Nepali Congress, Singh said a democratic constitution should be framed on the basis of consensus. Singh said his party will not help the Maoists form government unless they come to democratic mainstream.

Chairman of the Nepal Law Commission Baburaja Joshi said the onus is on political parties and civil society to institutionalise republic and restore peace.
