NCP merger in local levels after Dashain

Kathmandu October 13

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) co-chairs KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal have decided that the party unity will be completed in provinces, districts and local levels after Dashain. They also agreed to unify the party’s sister organisations.

Following party unification on May 17, the NCP (NCP) has already picked four members of  provincial committees, but the committees have yet to get full shape.

“Oli and Dahal did not want to hold a meeting before Dashain. So they have called for a meeting of the party after Dashain to finalise the issues,” an NCP leader told THT.

Oli and Dahal have called the party secretariat meeting on October 21 and 22 and standing committee meeting on October 29 and 30.

Oli and Dahal have also made an assessment of the government’s performance and concluded that public grievances were rising.

Dahal said at a programme in Bhaktapur that unification of the party’s sister wings and committees would be finalised after Dashain.

“We will address the issues related good governance, increase senior citizens’ allowance, and control price hike and corruption as per our commitment made before the elections last year,” added Dahal.
