NCP (NCP) to finalize by-election candidate on Sunday

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has decided to finalize the party candidates for the upcoming by-election on Sunday.

The secretariat meeting of the party held at Prime Minister's residence Baluwatar today could not decide the candidates to field in by-poll owing to lack of time, said Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

However, the meeting discussed the names recommended from the party lower levels as the possible candidates for the by-election of House of Representatives, State Assemblies and some local levels.

"We announce the candidates tomorrow," he said, adding that the lower levels of the party were asked to send at least three names with priority to the party leadership to pick anyone suitable for the election.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also brief the meeting of his health status.

"He is not so serious, but has some health problems which needed medical tests," Spokesperson Shrestha said, adding that some reports on his health were yet to be received. After receiving the report, discussion would be held on further treatment.

The Spokesperson informed that after PM Oli returned from the Grande Hospital with dialysis, he is in normal health.
