Nepal should work for stability, says Yafei

Kathmandu, March 2:

Chinese Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs He Yafei gave a policy statement here today, saying that Nepal should find its own past and work for political stability.

At a function organised by China Study Canter, he said every country has its own history and Nepal should also find its own past from which to embark on a path of development. He said stability has been a major factor in China’s growth and Nepal should also work for political stability.

Maoist chairman Prachanda, UML general secretary MK Nepal, minister Sujata Koirala and Chief of Army Staff Rookmangud Katuwal also attended the function.

Yafei, who arrived in Kathmandu today, is scheduled to meet the PM tomorrow morning, followed by a meeting with the CoAS, a pact at the Finance Ministry concerning providing Air Cargo Inspection System to the Nepal Army and a bilateral consultation meet at the Foreign Ministry. Yafei said China was ready to provide all kinds of assistance to Nepal.
