Nepali Armyto organise various events to support VN 2020

The Nepali Army has decided to organise different adventure sports and programmes throughout the year 2020 in a bid to support the government’s mega tourism campaign — Visit Nepal 2020.

Briefing about the programmes at a press meet today, Colonel Subas Thapa said that tourists from across the world and domestic tourists could be part of these programmes, which include jungle safari, mountain trekking, Everest expedition and cleaning campaign, paragliding, Ligligkot race, open adventure, Nepal Marathon, peace seminar and run for fun and unification trail trek. The NA also claimed that these events would be cheap and safe.

The government has the aim of attracting at least two million foreign tourists during the Visit Nepal 2020. The NA will organise jungle safari in Chitwan National Park, Bardiya National Park, Shuklaphanta National Park and Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve for two months in November and December next year.

Tourists will be able to enjoy paragliding from January to September. Unification trail trekking will be in the month of March. Trekking will cover Dhulikhel-Kavrekot-Sharadakot-Goraknath-Panauti route.

Similarly, Everest expedition and cleaning campaign is scheduled to be held from March to June.

Open adventure sports competition will have various adventure games such as  cycling and rafting. Adventure sports will be organised in the month of May. Peace seminar and run for fun will also be held in the same month.

Mountain trekking will be organised in September. Ligligkot run and marathon will be in October.
