Nepali Congress calls CWC meeting as Maoists leave govt

KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress has called the meeting of its Central Working Committee for Wednesday morning.

The meeting would hold discussion on the new political development after the CPN Maoist Centre pulled out of the coalition government.

The meeting has been scheduled for 8:30 am at the Nuptse Hall of the Parliament building, according the Nepali Congress Central Office.

It is believed that the Maoists withdrew its support from the KP Sharma Oli-led government to form a new alliance with the Nepali Congress.

Earlier today, Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara publicly said that the Nepali Congress has expressed its readiness in writing to support the new government in the Maoist party's leadership.

The two parties, however, are yet to make a formal agreement in this regard.
