Nepali Congress to field its candidates for vital posts
KATHMANDU: The largest party Nepali Congress has decided to field its candidates for all the vital posts, including President, Vice-President, Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
A meeting of the party's office-bearers held at party President Sushil Koirala's residence in Maharajgunj made the decision to this effect.
The party, however, has decided to move ahead by holding consultations with all the parties that helped it during the prime ministerial election.
Also, the meeting thanked all parties and lawmakers who voted for the party's candidate, Sushil Koirala, in the prime ministerial election on October 11.
The Nepali Congress expressed its hope to move ahead with the parties who lent support to the Nepali Congress with unity and cooperation in the days to come.
Earlier, Nepali Congress fielded Koirala as the prime ministerial election despite a gentlemen's agreement among the top leaders of major parties to support KP Sharma Oli of CPN-UML.
