Nepalis stage sit-in in Brusseles
KATHMANDU: Supporting the Maoist movement for establishing 'civilian supremacy' back home, Nepalis living in Brussels, Belgium's capital, yesterday organised a sit-in protest at the Nepali embassy.
Dadhiraj Ghimire, general secretary, Nepali Jana Pragatishil Manch Belgium, said hundreds of Nepalis attended the sit-in at the Brussels-based Nepali embassy, when the UCPN-M cadres and leaders picketed the Singha Durbar in Kathmandu.
He said the gherao was jointly organised by the progressive organisations of expatriates to support the United National People's Movement of the Maoists in Nepal. The protesters carried banners and placards demanding civilian supremacy and correction of the President's move.
