Lalitpur, November 15:

Minister of Women, Children and Social Welfare Durga Shrestha today inaugurated the new building of Child Welfare Centre (CWC) at Taukhel Godavari Village Development Committee today.

Addressing the programme, minister Shrestha said, “Children have been the most affected by the ongoing conflict in the country. The organisations’ contribution to the social sector is complementary to government activities.”

She said the government had introduced the Code of Conduct for Non-Governmental Organisations to ensure that the funds reached target groups and to make the organisations more transparent and accountable. This move should not be viewed through a political lens, Shrestha said.

Minister Shrestha felicitated and gave away certifi-cates of appreciation to German donors Herbet Schaceweis and Usrsala Schaceweis and David Whifield of British Gurkha duirng the programme.
