New Member-Secy at PADT

KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Member Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), Saresh Nepal, has assumed his office on Sunday.

He was appointed the Member Secretary from the decision of PADT Chairman and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Kripashur Sherpa four days back.

As per the PADT Act 2044, the Member-Secretary's term is four years.

Assuming the office, Nepal made a commitment for the development of PADT. "Modernisation of the Trust is my main goal," he added.

Meanwhile, the incumbent PADT Member Secretary Govinda Tandan was relieved from the post with Nepal's appointment.

Reasoning that he was appointed for four years, but relieved in two years, Tandan said he would move the court against the decision.

"I was out of the country on leave for a personal work, but was handed a letter of my ouster," he added.

Tandan further said he was illegally sacked, so the only measure against this was to go to the court for justice.
