NHRC condemns attack on Ncell towers by Chand Maoists

KATHMANDU: The National Human Right Commission (NHRC) on Wednesday condemned multiple attacks on Ncell base towers at different parts of the country by the Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist party.

The NHRC issued a press release and condemned the attacks claiming they were attacks onto the people’s right to information. The incidents have affected the communication in different districts of the country, it remarked.

According to Mohna Ansari, NHRC Spokesperson, “The NHRC wants to draw the government’s attention to investigate the arson incidents and bring into justice the perpetrators.”

Meanwhile, the constitutional human rights watchdog also condoled deaths of three persons in the May 20 gas cylinder explosion at Mangalbazaar, Lalitpur.

It also urged the government for a proper investigation into the incident.
