KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) said its central, regional and sub-regional offices would remain open during the Dashain, Tihar and Chhath holidays.
NHRC spokesperson Mohana Ansari said the offices would remain open from 11 am to 2 pm during the holidays to let people register their complaints about human rights violation.
“The Commission has arranged that the complaint sections remain open, considering protection of human rights of general public,” Ansari said in the statement.
The Commission said it would also carry out emergency monitoring works in cases of human rights violation.
Meanwhile, the NHRC urged protesting political parties to postpone protest programmes so that people can celebrate the festivals.
The Commission drew attention of the government to take initiatives to end crisis caused due to scarcity of medicines and petroleum products.
