NMA’s take

KATHMANDU: Nepal Medical Association, a professional organisation of medical and dental doctors in Nepal, on Saturday decided to send a two-point suggestion to the Constituent Assembly for necessary revision and addition to the preliminary draft of new constitution.

“The first suggestion is that the CA should make a provision of constitutional commission to regulate the medical service and medical education,” the NMA said, adding, “The new constitution should guarantee compulsory representation of doctors in various commissions, boards, and the Public Service Commission and the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority among others which are directly concerned with citizens and doctors as health service is compulsory for every citizen.”
