KATHMANDU: The Nepal Medical Council (NMC) has revoked license of two medical practitioners, Dr Vijay Kumar Singh and Dr Rambha Goit, for producing false reports, against professional standards, in case of a rape of a 12-year-old girl in Dhanusha.

Issuing a statement today, the council stated that there were discrepancies in the medical report provided Dr Singh (NMC Registration number 3155) and Dr Goit (Registration number 10206) as against the report of another practitioner Dr Rakesh Kumar Singh, upon investigating which, Singh and Goit were found guilty of preparing incorrect report after conducting physical examination of the minor.

“The medical certificates of the two doctors will be suspended, disqualifying them as medical practitioners for their unethical conduct until further notice,” the statement reads.

The victim was brought to Janakpur Zonal Hospital on August 25 for physical examination

Karan Mandal of Dhanusha allegedly raped the young girl on August 24.
