NRN honours litterateurs

KATHMANDU: The International Nepali Literary Society (INLS), affiliated with the Non Resident Nepalis (NRN), felicitated seven senior creators and awarded 11 writers during the Second Literary Festival & Award Ceremony here in the capital today.

According to the INLS, those felicitated are writer Diamond Shumsher Rana, cultural expert Satya Mohan Joshi, musician Ambar Gurung, artist Manoj Babu Mishra, writers Dr Tara Nath Sharma, Modnath Prashrit, and Dr Banira Giri.

Similarly, the INLS awarded Prof Dr Devi Prasad Subedi, story writer Maya Thakuri, poet Rita Khatri, lyricist Haribhakta Budhathoki, Dr Sushma Acharya, Dhrubalal Sharma, Biyogi Budhathoki, Nabaraj Rijal, Bima Bhaukaji, Shailendra Sakar and Bhanu Bhakta Pokhrel.

Gyanendra Gadal, coordinator of the award distribution committee, said that the senior and outstanding writers, who had contributed a lot to the Nepalese literature, art and culture were rewarded for their outstanding contribution. The award ceremony was chaired by Dr Kumar Basnet, president of the INLS. The INLS has 57 branches in various countries.
