NSU asks govt to rein in YCL
Kathmandu, May 17:
The Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) today urged the government to control violent activities of the Young Communist League (YCL). “Maoists’ activities are becoming violent and anarchic with every day,” the NSU said in a statement.
“Of late, there has been a spurt in violent activities of the Maoists. Abduction and killing of Ramhari Shrestha of Koteshwor, beating up of Ram Nath Tiwari and Krishna Bhakta Pathak, teachers based in Chitwan, and the act of threatening teachers in schools of Gorkha have stunned the NSU,” the statement added.
“The attacks on Adhikari brothers in Kaski and social workers in Pyuthan and Agrakhanchi indicate that the Maoists are trying to create terror in the country in a planned manner,” it said.
