NWPP wins in Bhaktapur
Bhaktapur, April 12:
The Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party (NWPP) has won both the constituencies of the smallest district of the country.
In constituency number 1 NWPP president Narayan Man Bijukchhe won Devendra Shrestha of Maoist by wide margin. Bijukchhe had received 19,972 against Shrestha’s 11,548 votes while Mahesh Shrestha of NC got 8,281. In constituency number 2 Sunil Prajapati received 18,100, while Lekhnath Neupane of NC got 13,265 votes and Ganesh Bahadur Khatri of UML received 11,769. In the 1999 election Neupane had defeated Prajapati while Asakaji Basukala of
NWPP had won in the 1994 election.
Bijukchhe said he would work for making a new Nepal based on socialism. Prajapati said he would do his best to implement the agendas raised by his party through the election manifesto.
