KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday apprehended two persons from various places of the Kathmandu Valley for their alleged involvement in theft

A police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) on Thursday arrested a man, who was absconding after stealing a bag containing cash and gold ornaments, from an unattended room of an organisation named ‘Women Forum for Women’ at Gongabu.

Police said that Raj Pandey (21) of Kanthapur-7, Baridya and currently residing at New Buspark, Gongabu had stolen the bag of Anita Sah, a staff of the organisation, on June 15, 2015.

Similarly, a police team dispatched from the MPCD nabbed a man with stolen goods.

The suspect has been identified as Rup Narayan Oli (32) of Tari Gaun-3, Dang and presently living at Dhungedhara, Banasthali of KMC-16.

Taking advantage of the absence of occupants, Oli had stolen property worth around Rs 250,000 from the rented room of Mrigendra Sen Oli at Kalika Nagar, Naikap-6 on December 3, 2013, according to MPCD.

He was on the run after the burglary, police said.
