Kathmandu, July 16:

Police team from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) arrested one Sunil Kumar Timalsina, a student of Janata Campus, Dang, on charge of threatening people and organisations and trying to extort money from them.

Timalsina, who came to the capital for a vacation, wrote e-mails or made phone calls to threat officials in the Chaudhary Group, Hotel Manang, Hotel Radission, Ananda Jewellers, Dr Krishna Raj Parajuli, Nabil Bank, Annapurna Post and Kantipur Publications among others and demanded huge sums of money.

“The culprit used five e-mail adresses and telephones to threaten people and demand money,” SSP Upendra Kanta Aryal said.
