OPMCM carries out surprise check at TIA

KATHMANDU: A team from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today carried out a surprise check at Tribhuvan International Airport and instructed the officials to improve customer service and maintain basic requirements of an international airport.

The surprise check was carried out in the wake of complaints on a number of issues, said OPMCM Secretary Shanta Raj Subedi, who led the inspection team. After some of the airlines were found to be not providing services properly in the airport, the team instructed the officials to correct their weaknesses, according to Subedi.

“We did not find telephone, WiFi and other basic services working properly and different units of the airport were not found to be working in coordination. So, we have instructed the concerned officials to correct the weaknesses and improve services,” Subedi said.
