Other biometric documents besides voter ID valid for voting, says EC

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has said that the registered voters can use government documents including citizenship certificate, driving licence and passport among others to cast their vote in the provincial and parliamentary elections slated on Thursday, December 7.

The benefit, however, would be valid to those who lost their voter identity card or failed to acquire them due to different reasons.

EC spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal was quoted in the Rastriya Samachar Samiti as saying, “Voter’s ID card issued by the EC for the second Constituent Assembly elections and recently held local level elections are also valid for voting.”
