PAC to investigate irregularities in NAC's aircraft purchase
KATHMANDU: The Public Account Committee under the House of Representatives is set to look into reports of irregularities in the purchase of wide-body aircraft by Nepal Airlines Corporation.
The committee's decision has come in response to the demands by lawmakers in this regard in the committee's meeting today. They also demanded that concerned authority should recover the dues as pointed out in the report of the Office of Auditor General related to the unpaid arrears. They also drew their attention to the effectiveness of the Office.
The Committee's President Bharat Kumar Shah said the committee's next meeting on Friday would hold discussion with the Office of the Auditor General on irregularities related to the aircraft purchase and other arrears.
Likewise, lawmakers including Hridayesh Tripathi, Birodh Khatiwada, Rajendra Kumar KC, Prem Bahadur Ale, Pushpa Kumari Karna Kayasta and Dharma Shila Chapagain drew the attention of the concerned authority to irregularities in purchase of the aircraft, clearance of arrears, and construction of the Fast-Track.
