KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday appointed advocate Padam Prasad Baidik a member of the Judicial Council.

The appointment was made as per Article 153.1 of the Constitution, according to a statement issued by the President's Office.

A permanent resident Khaira VDC-6 of Pyuthan district, Baidik was endorsed for the appointment from the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Sushila Karki, who also heads the Judicial Council, administered the oath of office and secrecy to Baidik today itself.
