Pandey meets Indian, Chinese ministers
Kathmandu, September 23:
Minister for Foreign Affairs Ramesh Nath Pandey met K Natwar Singh, the External Affairs Minister of India and Chinese Foreign Minister, Li Zhaoxing yesterday. He also held meeting Jan Eliasson, the President of the 60th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Minister Pandey briefed his Chinese and Indian counterparts on the latest political situation in Nepal. The ministers exchanged view on consolidating bilateral relations between the countries.
During his meeting with the President of the General Assembly, Minister Pandey briefed on the latest situation in Nepal, Nepali government’s fight against terrorism, improved security and human rights situation in the country as well as ongoing preparations for forthcoming municipal elections. They exchanged views on various issues on the agenda of the current General Assembly, including terrorism, international development and reform of the UN. Minister Pandey also met Ibrahim Gambari, Under Secretary General for Political Affairs of the UN, it was informed.
