Panel formed to find whereabouts of Bibek Sharma
Kathmandu, September 19:
The Valley Police Office (VPO), Ranipokhari, today formed a separate investigation committee headed by SSP Arjun Jung Shahi to find out the whereabouts of eight-year-old Bibek Sharma Luitel, who was kidnapped from his house at Koteshwor on September 9.
Besides regular and necessary investigation being carried out by the KDPO and VCIB, the police headquarters has already formed a three-member investigation committee comprising SPs Bam Bahadur Bhandari, Yogeshwor Rom Khami and Subodh Ghimire on September 16.
Earlier today, residents of Koteshwor today staged a chakka jam at Koteshwor chowk. Locals vandalised five vehicles during Chakka jam. The relatives of Bibek Sharma gathered at around 9 am and blocked traffic till 2 pm. Traffic flow from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu, Lalitpur (Gwarko) to Koteshwor and vice-versa was completely halted.
Though Valley Police has arrested three persons — prima facie mastermind Petini Palten Lama and accomplices Wakil Ansari and Bhikhari Khan — allegedly involved in kidnapping and selling of the body, police have yet to finalise an investigation and find out the whereabouts of the boy.
