KATHMANDU: United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) leader Manish Kumar Suman said that senior leaders of the major political parties registered the impeachment motion against the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Chief Lok Man Singh Karki at the Parliament Secretariat just because of jealousy.

He made the statement during an interaction organised at the Reporters’ Club in the Capital on Friday.

Saying that the UDMF has not taken Karki’s issue seriously, leader Suman said that the alliance of Madhesi parties would take the decision over the issue at the last hour before voting.

He accused leaders of the major political parties of bringing the motion against Karki merely to put the Constituent amendment proposal in limbo.

Also speaking on the occasion, CPN Maoist Centre lawmaker and Impeachment Recommendation Committee member Ram Narayan Bidari claimed that the motion against CIIA Chief Karki would mature within next two months.

Similarly, CPN-UML Chief whip Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal claimed that his party registered the impeachment motion against Karki after he worked arbitrarily.

Likewise, Nepali Congress lawmaker Ram Hari Khatiwada said that CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN Moaist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had not informed his party while registering the motion.

He further said that his party would not make any decision over Karki’s issue in haste.
